We look forward to bringing back the Live Cooking Theatre in 2021, where we will be featuring local food heroes from foodie havens across the Bay of Plenty to demonstrate live some of their favourite recipes and tips for nailing down tricky techniques in your own kitchen.

11.30am SATURDAY 26TH JUNE
CAMERON WARD - HARBOURSIDE
Harbourside treat their guests like family, and welcoming you are owner-managers Peter and Anita Ward. Their son Cameron Ward runs the kitchen in the beautiful Harbourside setting with views across the blue expanse of the Tauranga Harbour.
Cam will show you how to bring some Mexican flair into your kitchen, demonstrating how Harbourside makes their citrus seared tuna with tequila tomato salsa, avocado mousse, jalapeno on a cirspy tortilla.

IAN HARRISON - SUGO
Ian Harrison is the winner of Best Chef in 2020's BOP Hospitality Awards, and has worked internationally for the likes of Marco Pierre White throughout his almost 20 year career.
Ian is now Head Chef at Sugo Tauranga, an Italian inspired restaurant on the newly developed Wharf Street. Ian and his team create house-made pasta, hand-stretched pizzas and a selection of seasonal dishes that showcase the best local ingredients.
Ian will be showing you how to perfect pasta with buffalo ricotta tortellinis with burnt butter and sage.

STEPHEN WILSON - THE HAPPY PUKU
Stephen Wilson is an international Chef, food presenter, writer and former missionary, who spent 26 years in Paris and now runs The Happy Puku, a professional catering social enterprise established in 2018.
The Happy Puku teaches those who have experienced homelessness and unemployment how to 'grow a kai, catch a kai and cook a kai', providing opportunities to learn skills and enter employment through professional catering events. They also distribute meals to those in need.
Stephen will be showing you seafood with an international flair, showcasing Coquilles St Jacques - creamy leek scallops in crisp pastry parcels pan fried and perfectly caramelised with a creamy Chardonnay reduction, plus Kingfish Sashimi with lovely vibrant Thai flavours.
11.30am SUNDAY 27TH JUNE
NIGEL REID - PEARL KITCHEN
Nigel started his career as protégé to top NZ Chef Simon Gault. After returning home from a 7-year stint overseas, Nigel then became Simon’s his right-hand man as Group Head Chef for the Nourish Group. Cooking in London for a group of restaurants Cubitt House, he had the opportunity to serve some of the world’s elite and even some Royals. Back in NZ he has been an integral part of setting up some of our top restaurants, most recently, a local favourite Pearl Kitchen.
Nigel's recipes are inspired by travel, family and the seasons. Creating and leading with passion, Nigel shares his own brand of honest and exciting cookery without labouring too much over each plate.
Nigel will be showing you how to nail down the perfect risotto, making pea and pancetta risotto with lamb.

NEIL SAPITULA - SOLERA WINE BAR
Originally from the Phillippines, Neil Sapitula has gained incredible experience across the globe including stints in Michelin starred restaurants and San Pellegrino Asia top 50 restaurants.
Neil wows as Head Chef at the new Solera Wine Bar in Mount Maunganui, designing an innovative sharing menu focused on local ingredients to complement their selection of wines from small New Zealand wine producers.
Neil will be showing you how to cure at home, curing kingfish with delicious flavours.
3.30pm SUNDAY 27TH JUNE
PERRIN YATES - CLARENCE BISTRO
Clarence Bistro's Executive Chef Perrin Yates has gained experience working across Australia and New Zealand, merging his experiences with Noel Cimadom's Italian origins to create an innovative Bistro menu that captures the aromas of our beautiful country New Zealand.
Perrin is going to show you how to nail down the perfect rib eye beef dish.
